William Gibson’s Tony Award® winning play THE MIRACLE WORKER celebrates its 50th Anniversary of opening on Broadway with its first revival. Kate Keller: Is it possible, even, to teach a deaf blind child half of what an ordinary child learns? Has it ever been done?Īnnie Sullivan: No "Before she would inspire millions, one woman would inspire her." PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN ARCHIVED VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL SITE with additional outside image sources. I wanted to keep the spirit of the original THE MIRACLE WORKER website intact. I definitely didn't want someone else purchasing the domain and re-purposing it for something that had nothing in common with the original website. Recently I discovered the domain was available so I bought it with the goal of recreating some of its original content from archived pages. After the show closed this site's domain registration was allowed to expire. This website was created to promote the production of THE MIRACLE WORKER which was being staged in the round on Broadway. My debut novel came out in October this year with Gallic Books, and I am contractually obliged to say that it’s a “wild ride” and to provide a link for you to buy it. So here we are.Ģ022 has been momentous personally for one major reason: Orpheus Builds a Girl. This is the way I would like to start the next year. Things like playing and taking photos and investing in my space and the things I already own and making use of what’s leftover of everything. I’m trying to discard the things that are draining me, and choose instead to enjoy things simply, and say no more often, and prioritise the things that feed me, like taking time with my food, going on adventures with friends and spending hours in the kitchen. I’m trying to be gentle, and thoughtful, and not wasteful as I go into 2023. It’s the remnants of a traditional Italian Christmas biscuit recipe, mainly comprised of apricot jam, dates, pine nuts and pistachios, wrapped in a shortbread. It is December 31st, 2022, and here I sit with the Last Mince Pie and my last coffee of the year, cobbling together the scattered, mad pieces of a scattered, mad year. The writer’s talent and ability to accord the characters’ speech that would reflect their social class, moral values, age, and religious stand makes the story complete with its intended meaning of expressing her religious faith. However, through the characters’ dialogue and speech, all other aspects are well-expressed to the readers. In this story, O’Connor’s own attitude towards her faith is observed in the way she paints her characters through aspects, such as dialogue, whereby each character befits well the role he or she plays in the story.Ĭharacterization in this short story is displayed through various tools such as actions, clothing, speech and dialogue, family life, moral codes, and thoughts and opinions, among others. It is a fiction work of well-drawn characters that are represented through a philosophy which underscores the author’s devout religious belief and faith in the Roman Catholic way.Ī Good Man Is Hard to Find is actually one of the highly regarded works by this author where characterization is well exhibited through out the plot. The story has exhibited all the characteristics for which the author is best known for her religious faith. This vast appearance in various anthologies has made the story one of the most cherished works of this author. |
